NAJYRC Programs Overview:
The NAJYRC is the premier equestrian competition in North America for junior and young riders, age 14-21. It is held in July at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. Hundreds of young equestrians come from the United States, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean Islands competing for team and individual FEI medals in the disciplines of show jumping, dressage, eventing, reining and endurance.
The competition is run under rules of the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale), the international governing body for equestrian sports, and is the only FEI championship held annually on this continent. Complete rules and qualifying criteria for the NAJYRC can be found at www.usdf.org.
Region 6 was very proud of their 2014 region team juniors Heather Decent and Emily Park and for the Young Rider team Sarah Cohen. Region 6 did not have enough riders to field a full Junior or Young Rider team so for the team event our riders were combined with other regions in the same situation.
Our top placing was, Heather Decent who was on the combined Region 6/7 riders and won the Bronze Medal for the team event !!
