Instructor Experience Program-IEP: Have you ever wanted to ride with that one instructor you have always heard about? Well now you can at a great price. Region 6 is offering a new "Instructor Experience Program-IEP" open to all Region 6 riders where you can ride with participating Trainers in the region for an affordable rate.
Region 6 has some of the most talented trainers in the nation and now many of them are joining this program and donating their time to help support the Regional youth programs.
Here is how it works; interested riders fill out the application form and submit it with their choice of trainers from the participating list below. Each trainer will only be offering a limited number of spots each season, so get your application in early to ensure you get to ride with your favorite. Applications will be processed by postmark date and lessons are awarded on a first come first serve basis. Once your application has been accepted you and your instructor will be notified and you will coordinate directly the best day and time for the lesson.
The lessons are to be taken between May and December of the current year. The proceeds benefit the USDF Region 6 Junior/Young Rider Team at the North American Young Rider Championships and other regional programs. Each lesson is $50. It should be noted that the instructors have very busy schedules and may have restrictions on dates they are available, especially during show season. Plenty of lead time should be planned when scheduling, especially if you are limited in days or dates you yourself have available.
These dedicated instructors welcome the chance to help JR/YR and Adult Amateurs with their dressage training. The Instructor Experience Program gives riders the chance to try an instructor they may have thought about working with in a clinic or on a regular basis but were not sure of the ‘fit’. Please don’t be shy. This opportunity is for riders and horses of all ages and ability from training level up. Some instructors have school horses available, so you do not need to own your own horse or trailer.
